My Magazine Home: A Journey Into My Escape Thru Luxe Magazine

It’s raining outside on this Saturday morning … in fact, it’s the last day of the 2016 year.  I just finished eating a homemade breakfast my lovely hubby cooked for us (Belgian waffles with honey … and an espresso to compliment).  It was a rare, leisurely moment when we could not be hurried along because our pre-teen, Max, was still snoozing away, and Amelie was at a sleepover.  We carpe diemed it … we even opted for a little game of chinese checkers to entertain our mood … D’oh –  he won!

So, what do I do after starting a rainy morning like this?  I pick up a magazine from the stack I have ignored for months.  On the top: Luxe Magazine (Houston edition).  I’ve admired the cover for some time (it’s orange – are you surprised?!?!), but have never had the opportunity to spend the thirty minutes reading thru it.  Come to think of it … I think I’ve got a borderline addiction with collecting pretty magazines knowing I won’t have the immediate time to escape within them.  But, I can’t let go because I am convinced when I do have the time I won’t regret the escape it gives.  It’s like a paper gift …

Today, I did it – I feel achieved already 🙂  I actually thumbed thru the magazine with no hurry … and no worry.  It was divine – just what I had imagined.  For a moment, I imagined I was the girl walking thru the pages in my cute pink, knee-length skirt … with a light, cream shirt … color pop stiletto heels and a cute clutch to tie it all in.  I found a house I adored … an entree way I could easily welcome guests … a dining room my friends and I could laugh the evenings away while clinking our glasses of champagne … and the cozy couch I’d curl up in once my guests had gone and the kiddos wanted to play one more board game before calling it a night.

Welcome to my magazine home!

Here is my imaginary suburban home .. perfectly rectangular walking path to the door ... greenery almost as if it was from a canvas oil painting ... a mixture of window sizes and shapes that makes you feel like you're looking at a place that fuses minimalist with chateaux ... and a blue sky to invite every moment to breath deeply :)

Okay ... so the door doesn't match the one from the front of the house, but that is just a minor detail! Nevertheless, please enter! The white I hope delivers a feeling of cleanness, while the vibrance of the fuschia chair and rug scream fun and shenanigans are welcome!

Let's make a toast together at this table made for six. The table compliments my appreciation for mother earth ... the chandelier is intended to be a talking piece that delivers a mood throughout the evening ... and that art work - silly and quirky ... Love it :)

Like your favorite pillow you just can't part with ... this living room screams: Cuddle With Me. I imagine taking my heels off and curling myself within the pillows ... with my cup of tea in hand. The kiddos are sitting along the coffee table ... and we're conversing on our favorite parts of the evening, while simultaneously preparing a game of Mr. Gray - a favorite card game that lasts no more than 10 minutes, but always delivers laughs. A perfect way to end an evening as a family :)

And now it is time to snap the fingers and let the bubbles in my mind pop!  It was fun letting my imagination frolick thru the pages of Luxe Magazine … what a simple gift.

Are there any other Luxe Magazine lovers out there that get just as carried away as I do?  Comment below with your favorite magazine escape … I’d love to hear about it!
